Having a certified backflow system is crucial, as one property can contaminate the water supply for everyone connected to that water system.
It is mandatory that all backflow prevention systems are tested and recorded every 12 months by a certified professional backflow tester.
As a business, it is your responsibility to have a certified professional assess your backflow system and determine whether it meets the certification standards, otherwise your water supply could be cut off.
Your backflow prevention system needs to be tested annually by law. Each year you will receive a notification that your annual assessment is due.
Contact us when you receive this notification and we can assess the system for you. If you are unsure when your last test was done, we can arrange for a test to be done to make sure your system meets the certification.
We have a team of dedicated backflow prevention specialists who will assess your premises and business to determine the best devices to install and make sure it meets the correct standards.
What is Backflow Prevention
Backflow is the undesirable reversal of contaminated or dirty water that goes back into our water supply. A backflow prevention device is used to protect water supplies from contamination or pollution.
In water supply systems, water is normally maintained at a significant pressure to enable water to flow from taps or other fixtures. Water pressure may fail or be reduced when something happens to the external water supply for example a burst water main.
Reduced pressure in the pipe may allow contaminated water from the soil or from other sources to be drawn up into the system. A backflow prevention device will stop this from happening.
Thermostatic Mixing Valve Installation, Maintenance, Testing & Certification
A thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) is a valve that blends hot water with cold water to ensure a constant safe shower and bath outlet temperature, preventing scalding. In many industries, including aged care, installation and yearly certification of thermostatic valves is a compliance and legal requirement.
Testing, Compliance & Certification Services
In most cases, certification is required on an annual basis. Our certified and licensed plumbers can provide testing, compliance and certification services for your thermostatic mixing valves and provide assistance with compliance paperwork and tagging.
