Allan Kennedy, the founding Director of Kennedy Plumbing, commenced trading in 1976 as a sole trader in the backyard of his parents’ home in Williamstown.
KENNEDY PLUMBING commenced operations in 1976. Since our inception we have developed the Company to ensure our clients receive professional service in a diversity of plumbing fields.
The ASBESTOS REMOVAL activities commenced in 1985 expanding to include ENVIRONMENTAL management in 2014.
In 1997 our Geelong workshop commenced trading under the leadership of our founding Director; Geelong has developed concurrent with the Melbourne workshop resulting in a duplication of capabilities and resources.
In 2014, the Kennedy Group expanded to include ELECTRICAL SERVICES. Client demand for a one stop provider for trade services was the catalyst, the Directors continually review the growth of the company taking into account the needs and expectations of our current and future clients.
In 2017, the Kennedy Group again expanded to include METAL FABRICATION AND ENGINEERING services. Development of the company focuses on additional services to clients and the need to provide complimentary services as one package. The services available from Kennedy Metal includes engineering fabrication, sheet metal work and all forms of welding (included stainless steel), custom specialised projects and contract works.

Shannon Kennedy is a Director of Kennedys (Aust) Pty Ltd. During his 23-year tenure, Shannon has worked through the business from his early beginnings as a plumbing apprentice. This experience has given him the grounding and confidence to contribute to what Kennedys is today.
Shannon has been director of the group for more than 16 years, during this period he has contributed to the growth of the plumbing and asbestos businesses. He was a key player in establishing and implementing the Electrical branch of the business in 2014. Over recent years Shannon has been active in the contaminated soil and remediation space also overseeing the coordination of the larger business projects.
He is always looking for the next opportunity for the business and claims the company’s success is built on the professional team of managers, office staff and tradesmen throughout the group. Shannon believes employee development is a key contributor to the business success.
Chris Kennedy is a Director of Kennedys (Aust) Pty Ltd and now holds an A class licence. During his 14 year tenure, Chris has progressed through the business. He now manages the Geelong branch and specialises in managing the Asbestos and Environmental division of the company.
His experience and continued involvement within the business has seen him grow from a plumbing apprentice in the early days, through to estimating and project management, and now into the role of director for more than 6 years. As a director he has seen major growth within the business through diversity of trade services & branches and qualified staff.
Prior to joining Kennedys, Chris worked within the landscaping and construction industries. Gravitating towards asbestos and environmentally based projects things progressed quickly to estimating and project management.
He now holds an A Class asbestos supervisors ticket, Plumbing registration and an IICRC accreditation in Water damage restoration and Applied microbial remediation with a focus on growing all aspects of the business.
